This Week in Bisbee Person of the Week!

Nancy Williams came to spend the winter in Bisbee twenty-five years ago. She bought a house the first week. She was born in Texas a long, long time ago but left as soon as possible and landed in Southern California where she did some freelance writing, worked at an advertising agency, a TV production company, and wrote press and public relations releases for Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson, among others. At a fork in the road, she turned in a different direction, went back to school, got a Master’s Degree, and became a college English instructor for 24 years. She also led book discussions and literature seminars for public libraries and private groups, and was never afraid of Virginia Woolf. A long-time activist for women’s rights, Nancy once wrote a song for Willie Nelson, titled “Mamas, don’t let your cowboys grow up to be babies.” For some reason, Willie never recorded it. Tell Nancy you saw her in TWIB!
