Have some personal papers you want to see shredded? Old tax info, credit card and bank statements, medical records? Bring them to the SHED-IT SHRED-IT event on Saturday, May 10 from 9am to noon at the Ace parking lot on Naco Highway. The suggested $10 per box donation covers the cost of getting the shredding truck to Bisbee, with the remainder of the donation supporting Bisbee Community Chorus expenses. Volunteers also accept eyeglasses for recycling and samples of toiletries to pass on to local shelters. Sorry – no electronics or pills this time.

The Bisbee Woman’s Club is accepting applications for its 2025 grant awards from March 3 to April 11. Grants awards will be up to $1,000. Grant applications are posted on its website www.bisbeewomansclub.com in Its Grants section. The grants are intended for organizations and individuals whose project will benefit the Bisbee community. The projects will fulfill the mission of the Bisbee Woman’s Club to further education, improve skills, expand rights and meet the needs of our community. Lollie Yancey, the President of the Arizona Gourd Society, will present an educational program on gourd art at the Bisbee Woman’s Club on Thursday, April 24 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. “Gourds Can Be Anything” will address the history of how gourds have been used over the centuries for everything from food storage, musical instruments, décor and more! She will discuss where and how gourds are grown and will bring examples of raw gourds as well as finished art pieces. A successful gourd artist, Lollie will explain the variety of disciplines in crafting art gourds and will demonstrate a simple technique. The program is free and open to the public.
