Featured Event of the Week
Camp Naco Open House – Saturday August 5, 2023, 9am-12pm
A celebration of National Buffalo Soldier Day and the 75th Anniversary of the Executive Order Ending Segregation in the Armed Forces. The Southwest Association of Buffalo Soldiers (SWABS) is partnering with the Naco Heritage Alliance to commemorate both of these historical events, and to honor recently departed persons who championed the legacy of Buffalo Soldiers in southern Arizona.
The event will feature a flag ceremony, speakers, exhibit displays, guided tours of Camp Naco, as well as food and ice cream trucks. Camp Naco is also inviting descendant families of Buffalo Soldiers to attend and share their experiences as part of our new oral history project. Camp Naco is located 2118 W. Attention all Bisbee artists and creatives! Hotel LaMore at The Bisbee Inn is opening it’s hotel communal area to the community! Anyone looking to hold small events or workshops are encouraged to reach out via call or email (frontdesk@thebisbeeinn.com) to either myself or Bree to discuss the opportunity. At this time we are not charging for the space, as it’s a soft launch into holding events. Events must wrap up before 7pm so not to disturb guests staying in the hotel and must comply with our occupancy limit.
