If you don’t receive the list immediately after signing up, check your spam folder. Send events: events@thisweekinbisbee.com We have a website! www.thisweekinbisbee.comFeel free to save, print, or share. All shows are subject to changes or cancellations for no apparent reason – hey, it’s Bisbee! Due to popular demand a Weekend Update email is sent out on Friday afternoons. The list is always free, but if you love these email blasts, please consider a donation – a suggestion is $12 for a year’s worth of emails/events https://paypal.me/thisweekinbisbee (you may also send cash or check to the address at the bottom) If you use this list for your business (AirBnb, hotel, etc.) I suggest $20 per year. THANKS TO ALL WHO HAVE DONATED SO FAR! Support the artists, musicians, and events that make Bisbee great! All shows are free unless noted – tip your servers and don’t forget to TIP THE BAND! A good starting point is $5 x the number in your party. Addresses, websites, and phone numbers of venues, if available, are at the bottom of the list. NOTE THE NEW “BISBEE PERSON OF THE WEEK!” — SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM TO SEE WHO IT IS! TWIB is now accepting sponsors. I believe this will add value to the small businesses and artists as well as the readership. I also think it helps separate the days better. This is a work in progress, so feel free to send feedback. [And if you absolutely hate it, you can always change your email preferences to receive plain text!] Become a sponsor: sponsor@thisweekinbisbee.com It’s also COPPER CITY CLASSIC at Bisbee’s 113-year-old Warren Ballpark Saturday and Sunday! Gates open 10 am $10 for 1 day $15 for 2. Children 12 and under free, military and DOD free. All proceeds go to renovating the ballpark. These vintage base ball clubs, dressed in uniforms dating back a century or more, will play by rules from 1860. One of the teams, the Maricopa Maidens, is an all-female team that plays in uniforms identical to those worn during the 1940s and 50s. Bisbee Person of the Week! |
This week’s “person” is my dog, Otis! I had my wonderful pooch for 4060 days, he was 11 1/2 years old when he passed away 3 weeks ago. I named him after Otis Redding the soul singer. He was over 100 pounds and a rott-shepherd mix (his red coloring was from the rott). He was well-loved in the Bisbee community – many people knew his name before they knew mine. He was very gentle and had a pleasant demeanor, he was almost always happy. So keep dear Otis in your hearts as he is now at the Happy Hunting Grounds! |
